Exeter Chiefs Tag Rugby Competition: 18.9.14

A Y5/6 team took part in a big tag rugby competition organised by the Exeter Chiefs. 30 other schools from the local area took part. The Brixington team competed very well  and ended up finishing 2nd in their group, winning two games and only loosing one. However, with only the top team going through, this meant they were sadly out of the competition.

After a lunch break, the team then played some 'friendly' matches against St Josephs, Exeter Road and Withycombe. Once again they rose to the challenge and played some thrilling rugby in 2 fabulous wins and a narrow defeat. The children had an exciting day of rugby!

Tour of Britain: School's town centre circuit races - 10.9.14

On Wednesday evening, two teams of riders from Brixington raced  against other local schools around the Strand. Large crowds lined the route as the competitors from Years 4, 5 & 6 sped around the two lap course. A number of Brixington children actually won their races and one of the teams finished first overall.

Congratulations to all the riders, in both Brixington teams, and thank you to all the parents for their amazing support.

Tour of Britain: Cycle Relay - 9.9.14

Today, Henry, Harry and Charlie took part in the Tour of Britain Cycle Relay. After receiving official Tour of Britain cycle tops, from children from Bassetts Farm School, they cycled over to Marpool Primary School. They arrived to an amazing reception, greeted by the whole school! After that,

they handed the cycling tops on, so the relay could continue. The children represented Brixington Primary School brilliantly and enjoyed cycling out and back to school.
Nice cycling jerseys!
Ready and raring to go!
