Cyclo-X races: @ Bicton - 23.10.14

Yesterday, a keen team of eight cyclists from our school competed in the East Devon cyclo-x championships at Bicton College.
The Brixington Cyclo-x team!
First they completed a time trial, which was one fast lap around the hilly grass course. Then they each raced against 7 children from other schools in 4 to 6 lap races, depending on their time trial time.

Every child tried their absolute best and competed well against the other children and they all had a great afternoon of cycling!
...and they are off!

Netball unbeaten run!

Brixington Netball grows from strength to strength. The 4th and final friendly tournament at Exmouth Community College saw the A and B team play a total of 6 games. With new additions to the squad, the quality of the team is truly growing from strength to strength. Both the A team and B team were undeated, winning 5 out of 6 games, scoring 17 goals and only conceding 2 between them. Superb team performances.

Great preparation leading into the East Devon Netball Championships after half term.

Cycling after school club: Autumn term

Cycling club takes place on a Monday after school and this half term it is for boys and girls in Year 5&6. Children develop their cycling skills such as cycling with one hand, track stands, negotiating tight turns, descending banks, starting quickly and racing! We are fortunate to have the help of Joel Smith, our local SUSTRANS officer and Mr Dave, so the children split into small groups and enjoy cycling in  traffic free environment around our great school grounds.

Karate after school club: Autumn term

Some boys and girls, of all ages, have taken up the opportunity to experience Karate. With a qualified instructor, who runs  local club, the children are learning lots of basic Karate skills.... and hopefully some will enjoy the sport so much they will continue out side of school time!
